Enterprise SEO Services

Our enterprise SEO consulting services are designed to increase the organic search visibility of organizations with large websites with hundreds of thousands to millions of pages.

We provide tailored strategies that align with your business objectives and deliver measurable results whether it’s sales & revenue growth, lead generation or overall traffic.

As your enterprise SEO consultant, I will work closely with your company to create a comprehensive SEO plan that seeks to drive growth. With nearly 20 years of SEO in-house and agency experience, I was most recently Director of Performance Marketing for a publicly-traded technology company that owned eight enterprise marketplace websites, each with millions of pages. Much of my focus was on leading our technical SEO efforts for these sites through cross-functional collaboration from the developer level up to the C-suite executive level. With my extensive professional background, I’m perfectly suited me to address your business needs as I have experienced your challenges myself.

What is Enterprise SEO?

Enterprise SEO is the practice of improving search engine rankings for large, enterprise companies. It involves scaling content, ongoing technical SEO management, and automation to enhance visibility and attract organic traffic on a significant scale. Examples of websites that might require enterprise SEO include large businesses with a global presence and big e-commerce companies with extensive product catalogs.

  • Scaling: Enterprise SEO involves optimizing a large number of pages, so strategies need to be scalable to handle the volume effectively.
  • Advanced Technical SEO: Enterprise sites often have complex structures, so technical SEO becomes crucial to ensure proper indexing and crawling of all pages.
  • Content Management: Managing substantial volumes of content requires a robust content strategy that focuses on quality, relevance, and optimization.
  • Automation: Utilizing tools and automation to streamline processes and handle tasks efficiently at scale.
  • International SEO: Large companies with a global presence need to implement international SEO strategies to cater to different regions and languages.
  • Collaboration: Enterprise SEO often involves working with cross-functional teams, such as developers, content creators, and marketers, to align strategies and implement changes effectively across the organization.

Comprehensive Site Analysis and Technical SEO Audits

Before making any recommendations, I would set up calls with you and exchange as many emails as necessary to gain a solid understanding of your business. Once we’re ready to begin work, then I would likely need access to your Google Search Console and GA4 accounts in addition to server logs if available. In order to crawl your site I would also need various SEO tools to be whitelisted by your CDN and/or IT team as high-volume crawling with bots on enterprise websites is usually blocked for security reasons.

Improved Search Engine Discoverability and Crawl Budgets

I will review everything from your site’s internal linking structure to your site architecture which may include un-optimized Javascript to robots.txt rules and analyze your crawl budget across core sections of your site. For large sites, one of the most important aspects is ensuring that search engines like Google and Bing can crawl your most important pages in a timely manner. If you’re dealing with millions of pages, then it’s possible that large sections of the site may never get crawled or infrequently if you’re not careful. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “Time is money.” Well that is enterprise SEO for you. It’s a numbers game here.

User Experience, Page Speed, and Mobile Usability

User experience is also another often-overlooked aspect to SEO. How do your users engage with your webpages? Having heatmaps can be invaluable here. Also, ensuring that you have well-defined conversion metrics and other analytics KPIs is critical for driving qualified business. While I’m not someone who obsesses over Core Web Vitals scores, if your site has abysmal scores and it’s a noticeable burden on the user then that should also be addressed. In many larger orgs, these considerations might fall under a different team or role (UX design, product management, web dev) but UX can impact SEO results as well since it’s been well-documented since the “Google API leak” that Google likely uses Chrome user data to influence search rankings. I myself have managed landing page optimization and conversion rate optimization (CRO) in-house, in addition to having to work through others at other companies to accomplish this, so I understand what is needed to get the job done. Whether you need consulting on UX or need assistance with gaining cross-functional buy-in I can help as I have been there myself many times.

Thorough Keyword Research and Analysis

Having led both organic search and paid search (SEM) teams at my previous companies, I strongly feel that your keyword optimization and taxonomy should be informed by Google Ads performance data. SEO takes time to see results and has a lot less data available for marketers compared to SEM. You could easily spend a few months optimizing your site completely for the wrong keywords or topics. It would be foolish to not leverage the data that you already have before making these decisions. If not then let’s create some Google Ads campaigns to test things out first and learn from the data before making any SEO content changes.

In the old days of SEO, we would just use Google Keyword Planner to figure out the highest search volume keywords to base our site around then build out repetitive pages for every exact match variation of the keyword. That doesn’t work anymore and even when it did it resulted in a strange user experience. Now it’s about focusing on user intent and semantic search to ensure that your important pages are ranking for most if not all of the important searches that you’re targeting. The searches that drive your business may likely not even be the highest search volume terms for your vertical.

Programmatic On-Page SEO Enhancements For Maximum Visibility

Not only will we work together to align your content with your marketing goals but I will audit your site to ensure that your on-page SEO is set up for success. For enterprise sites, this will usually require a programmatic approach as there are too many pages to do this work manually. The challenge is balancing efficiency while minimizing potential duplicate content which is a common issue for large sites.

Local and International SEO for Global Brand Presence

Creating effective local and international SEO requires more than merely taking your base language template, usually English, and merely translating to another language or locale. You need feedback and review from people who are proficient in the culture and language from that region. For example, one common phrase from your region might be offensive or have a completely different meaning if you do a literal translation. If you’re serious about driving business from multiple markets then you need to ensure there is an authentic experience for all users. International translations involves more than just translating a few headers and meta titles. Perhaps the first thing to ask yourself is your organization is operationally-equipped to handle business from outside of your main region? Customer service is important regardless of what language or culture you come from.

Other considerations are on the technical side. It’s important to ensure that the user is served the appropriate page for their respective region or language.
